On another note, Logan got diagnosed with a MILD case of Swine Flu today. Doesn't the face below look like a boy with the swine flu? :0) Yeah, don't feel too sorry for him! :0) This is about 1 hour after he got home from the doctors. Thankfully, he doesn't have any "spitting up" (as we call it in our house) or having the runs symptoms....just a high fever with a little cough and runny nose.

Homemade Bread
Yeah...apparently I am still not very domestic. I tried making some homemade bread all by my lonesome for the 1st time. Let's just say my loaves had character! :0)

Yet another milestone...
As I was taking Logan and Laney's breakfast dishes off the table one morning last week, I turned around to witness this miraculous event right before my eyes!! Speaking as a very experienced cereal eater, I couldn't have been more proud! :0) Mind you almost all of the cereal is still in the bowl. I couldn't stop smiling. For some reason, drinking the milk out of the cereal bowl as displayed above is the classic childhood tradition.

FIRST Snow Fall of the Season & Halloween
The first snow fall of the season happened BEFORE Halloween. Logan has already had 3 snow days from school. Even daddy got a snow day and a half. With our van not moving for 2 days in a row I ended up getting close to two feet of snow embedded on top.

The only way my kids get outside in the snow is if daddy is here. At least while living in an apartmnet complex. Laney LOVED the snow. She kept falling on her tummy doing upside down snow angels. Emy LOVED it for about...um...45 seconds. Then the rest of the time the falling snow was pelting her in the eyes. Emy and mommy didn't last long outside. Logan loves the sled rides and snowball fights with daddy.

I have to say, it is amazing how after 40 minutes of preparation with getting all the kids to go potty, diaper changed, dressed in thermals underneath their other clothes and sled blown up and of course us ready...the outside fun ends in less time than it took to get ready with a crazy mess at the front door that takes less than 10 seconds to occur. We all came in cold and chilly and eager to drink from our hot cho with little mallows and whip cream on top!! YUM!!!
Our pumpkins this year weren't the greatest, but our kids still enjoyed creating their own.
Logan couldn't decide between Ironman and batman. He ended up being Ironman with a batman cape on. Laney was a Yellow M & M again, just like last year. She LOVED her costume. Above is Laney looking through her candy. I think daddy taught her that strategy. I remember as a kid, we would all dump out our candy together as siblings and do some trading. Emy was going to be a skeleton. Then right before we all went to main street to go trick or treating, I went somewhere and when I came back I saw daddy added a cute little pink princess dress to her skeleton debut...she was so stinkin' cute.
Jenn vs. Bone Breaker
That's right, there is nothing more entertaining than two 30 year olds, in their 80s hairdo/gear, pulling every muscle in their body to win a good ole' game of Wii boxing! And, Lanita, if you want this video off my blog...I better get some pretty good bribery!! :0)

Jenn turned the big 3-0
I had a great birthday this year. My kids and I hung out in the afternoon for about 2 hours just doing absolutely nothing and having the best time. We were all just chill and happy and being silly. The best part of course was that I had lots of snugglebugs!

I love this picture below of Laney. If anybody knows Laney she doesn't like to smile on command a lot, although she is getting a lot better at it. I was taking pictures of my kids during out "hangout" session and as I took her picture I said, "Smile" (nothing happened)...so I said, "Pleeeeaaaasssse, for my birthday" and just after I said that she would flash the HUGEST smiles! I LOVED it...I couldn't have asked for a better gift. Honestly!

It really was a great day! Sugar cookies in the morning with dear friends, hanging out with my kids in the afternoon, PERFECT family dinner at Texas Roadhouse and went to a friend's house later for a 13 going on 30 party with a little WII boxing just to get me stiff and sore enough to feel my age! :0)

For dinner we went to the Texas Roadhouse. I was excited because I knew on Monday nights there is a couple who face painting and balloon making. The kids were so excited as we walked in and they realized where we were. They couldn't wait to get their face painted.
My little Emy gave me the best gift she could give me. For some reason, as if she knew it was my birthday, she was giving me an extra amount of bear hugs!! The kind of hugs where she squeezes you so tight and you can hear her giggling while doing so. AHHHhhhhh....not a better gift again I could have received. I LOVED it!! I kept trying to take it all in with every hug...but you just can't get enough of those hugs...ya know?
Here are the balloons they got during the meal. Laney got the monkey & Logan the octopus.

Halloween Sugar Cookie Fun
For some reason, many people are afraid to get flour here and there as they are cooking. I say EMBRACE the flour. It doesn't stain, it is cheap, easy to clean up and TONS O FUN! Plus, how can one truly resist the temptation of it? :0)
DECORATING THE COOKIES THE NEXT DAY WITH SOME FRIENDS!
I love the pic of my little Laney above, it is her classic stare down look!
